Method for selective decoppering of waste lithium ion battery

2008
The invention discloses a method for waste lithium ion battery selective decoppering. The method comprises the following steps that the copper-contained waste lithium ion battery is taken as raw material; alkaline medium containing ammonia is taken as an infusion solution; the copper-contained waste lithium ion battery raw material which is cracked or cracked after baking leaches and separates the copper from the infusion solution; the leaching rate of the copper achieves 93-99.99% and the copper then enters the ammonia solution; the leaching rates of the lithium and the cobalt are respectively 5-25% and 0.1-15%, thus being beneficial to recovering the copper further in the copper solution; the lithium and the cobalt in the leaching slag are enriched. The method of the invention has simple process, adopts the ammonia infusion solution containing the ammonia, and controls the leaching condition, preferably leaches the copper; furthermore, the lithium and the cobalt are mainly remained in the leaching slag, thus being beneficial to the high-efficiency recovery of the valuable metals in the waste lithium ion battery. The raw material of the invention has low price, mild disposal condition and high decoppering efficiency, is beneficial to the decoppering requirement of the large-scale waste lithium ion battery and has low production cost.
