Circulating fluidized bed combustion (CFBC)

Abstract: This chapter is devoted to basic aspects of circulating fluidized bed combustion (CFBC). The chapter first reviews the history and current status of CFBC technology. The chapter then discusses advantages and basic principles of CFBC, describing factors affecting combustion efficiency as well as the issue of reliability and availability of CFB boilers. The chapter includes a development strategy and challenges of CFBC technology.
