Apparatus and method for inserting tag to the stereo audio signal and extracting tag from the stereo audio signal

According to an embodiment of the present invention, a method for inserting a tag performed by an apparatus for inserting a tag to a stereo audio signal includes the steps of: receiving an original stereo audio signal; analyzing an energy distribution of the original stereo audio signal with respect to an azimuth angle; determining respective effective azimuth angles for control information for controlling tag information and a plurality of tag information in consideration of the energy distribution; modulating the plurality of tag information and the control information generated based on the effective azimuth angle; generating a left signal and a right signal by using the modulated control information and the plurality of modulated tag information; and generating a multi-tagged stereo audio signal by mixing the generated left and right signals with the original stereo audio signal. Accordingly, the present invention can effectively provide an additional server to a user and more effectively insert and extract the tag information.
