Advances in high Bs Fe-based amorphous soft magnetic alloys

Recent advance in the area of Fe-based amorphous alloys with high magnetic inductions and low core loss are reviewed briefly.Particularly,the optimizing chemical composition,magnetic characterictics,qualities of ribbon and the key technologies for the novel FeSiBC system amorphous alloy 2605HB1 are detailed.A trieal distribution transformers using newly developed HB1 core shows the advantages of lower core loss,higher operating induction,lower audible noise and reduced physical size than a corresponding distribution transformer using conventional FeSiB system amorphous alloy 2605SA1 core.
