Design and analysis of steel-concrete composite bridge with shallow-section

2005
For an example of the alteration design of the simple-supported girder bridge with the span of 36?m, the static behaviors, such as stress at the critical section and deformation, the economical index of three types of composite bridges were analyzed and compared. The three types of composite bridges were considered, namely normal steel-concrete composite bridge with parallel I-shape girders, prestressed steel-concrete composite bridge with parallel I-shape girders, and steel-concrete composite bridges with box-girders. It is demonstrated that the steel-concrete composite girder bridge has good static behavior, and the economical height-to-span ratio of presstressed composite bridges with parallel girders and composite bridges with box-girders may exceed the value of 1/20.
