Vehicle window glass and method for manufacturing same

Provided is a method for manufacturing vehicle window glass, the method suitable for suppressing separation of a functional thin film from a ceramic shielding layer without masking the ceramic shielding layer using masking tape. This manufacturing method comprises performing: an application step for supplying an application liquid for forming a functional thin film to the principal surface of a glass sheet on which a ceramic shielding layer is formed in advance, and causing the application liquid to flow over the principal surface in a predetermined direction; and a drying step for drying the supplied application liquid. In the application step, the orientation of the glass sheet is set so that the predetermined direction is a first direction in which the maximum length of the principal surface is 30 cm or less (and not a second direction in which the maximum length exceeds 50 cm), and the distance over which the application liquid flows on the principal surface is limited to 30 cm or less.
