A 72-Year-Old Patient with a Non-pigmented Bleeding Lesion on the Nose

2020
A 72-year-old patient presented for a long-lasting elevated lesion located on the nose, 6.8 cm in diameter. The lesion was covered by hemorrhagic crust, bleeding when pressured. The dermoscopic evaluation was extremely difficult as the majority of the lesion was covered by thick hemorrhagic bleeding crust. The only visible part of the lesion was lateral edges which revealed hemorrhage and linear-irregular vessels, indicating the diagnosis of poorly-differentiated squamous cell carcinoma, which was afterward confirmed by histopathology.
