Device for generating thermal neutron scattering experiments neutrons comprising a neutron source (3) driven by accelerator or laser and a moderator (1) to moderate neutrons from the neutron source (2, 3), characterized in that in the moderator (1) there are one or more channels (5) which leads or lead an inner area (4) of the moderator (1) to the surface (6) of the moderator (1), characterized in that the inner area (4 ) is at maximum flow or near the maximum thermal neutron flux.
