Influence of Low-temperature Characteristics on Accuracy of Full-Fiber ECT

The substation operating environment of some UHV and smart grids in China belongs to the low-temperature region, which causes certain problems for the stability of operation of the electronic transformer the key equipment. Full-fiber ECT is at the highest level of optical current transformer development at present, but its low-temperature characteristics are still researched intensively. Based on the principle of full-fiber ECT, this paper analyzed the influence of temperature on full-fiber ECT, with focus on the research of the characteristics of influence of low temperature environment on the accuracy of full-fiber ECT. In addition, a research of the accuracy characteristics from 0°C to −60°C was focused through the test of the low-temperature accuracy of full-fiber ECT. Therefore, improved measures were obtained for reliable operation of full-fiber ECT at low temperatures. The experimental results showed that a reliable operation of all-fiber at low temperature could be ensured only if the low-temperature resistance of sensors and acquisition units were improved.
