O povoado proto-histórico da Quinta da Aramenha (Cartaxo)

EnglishThe archaeological site of Quinta da Aramenha, well set in a dominant height to the Tejo and Azambuja valleys, was found throughout an archaeological attendance in the A-1 widening, between Aveiras de Cima and Santarem, during an examination in a gravel site, which was set there for quite some time. For the period of the stratigraphic cut prospection and cleaning, it was possible to recognize a high concentration of archaeological spoils. Some artefacts, which could be grouped in different material cultures, were gathered, with special relevance to the Bronze and Iron Ages. Due to the non-destructive nature of the work done, there were not identified any visible traces of any structures or materials associated to the metal transformation. One should notice the silex instruments, the countless construction ceramics fragments as well as the many vases and cups of manual and lathe production, life testimonies of an extended human occupation. portuguesO sitio arqueologico da Quinta da Aramenha, bem implantado em elevacao sobranceira aos vales do Tejo e da Azambuja, foi descoberto no âmbito do acompanhamento arqueologico do alargamento da A-1, entre Aveiras de Cima e Santarem, durante a exploracao de saibreira que ai se encontrava ha ja alguns anos. Durante os trabalhos de prospeccao e limpeza de corte estratigrafico, foi possivel reconhecer uma elevada concentracao de espolio arqueologico, tendo sido recolhidos artefactos enquadraveis em diferentes culturas materiais, com especial relevância para as Idades do Bronze e do Ferro. Devido a natureza nao destrutiva dos trabalhos realizados, nao foram identificados vestigios visiveis de estruturas nem materiais associados a transformacao do metal, salientando-se os instrumentos em silex, os inumeros fragmentos de cerâmica de construcao assim como de vasos e tacas de fabrico manual e a torno, testemunhos de uma longa ocupacao humana.
