BACK TO THE WHEEL - THEORY AND PRACTICAL EXPERIENCE IN THE REHABILITATION OF TRAFFIC OFFENDERS

1997
For about 30 years now the rehabilitation of traffic offenders has been a constituent element of preventive traffic safety measures. A variety of different courses are available for the treatment of specific target groups. Some of them have shown their effectiveness in an impressive manner. All courses have been established to improve the driver's ability to drive safely in one way or another in those cases in which the driver must be presumed unfit to drive, either by legal dictate or as a result of a medico-psychological assessment. This book includes the following chapters: development of rehabilitation of traffic offenders; target groups; diagnostics, selection, assignment; methods; models/course forms; legal aspects; effectiveness and evaluation of the courses; factors influencing rehabilitation/group dynamics; quality assurance; organisation.
