Histórico do Grupo Timbó de Agroecologia e sua importância na formação de agentes agroecológicos

The purpose of this article is to describe the performance of the Timbo Group of Agroecology,of the Faculty of Agronomic Sciences/UNESP - Botucatu, as well as its importance in thetraining of agrarian professionals. In order to discuss a model of agriculture different from thatpresented at the university, some students of the student´s movement of the agrarians in the90s joined and gave rise to the group. Through the participation in events and articulation withprofessionals in the area, regional farmers and other institutions of Botucatu, the group hasformed a network and has gained recognition at the university and in the region. The grouphas always been active, participating and articulating team work, courses, workshops, with aconstant renewal of the members, but always looking for na agroecological formation and intregrationof the axes teaching, research and extension in the group´s actions.
