There are many situations in our lives where we need to make decisions and act under uncertainty. Although probability theory may be viewed as a standard approach to modeling uncertainty, there are situations where it is not the best approach to representing information. With the aim of filling this gap, over the past decades, various generalizations and alternatives have been developed for probability theory.
