Smart Cities and education in digital economy

In this paper, we discuss the preparation and use of labor resources in Smart Cities. Cities play a huge role in the economy. Their weight in world gross product is only increasing. Under these conditions, the efficiency of labor becomes extremely important for cities. The final outcome of any learning or education is the ability to use by a specific person their skills in practice. Global estimates of the efficiency of the process of the traditional education system reaches only 60%. In Russia this figure is likely even lower. The regular work with new skills required for emerging digital economy in Russian cities is yet to be started. The article discusses the experience of other countries (primarily the UK) for the preparation and use of labor resources in Smart Cities.
