STUDY ON SYNTHESIS OF MANGANESE-DOPED MESOPOROUS SILICA

2004
Using the mixture of cetyltrimethylammonium bromide and neutral hexadecylamine as template, ordered-mesoporous manganese-containing silica was synthesized, which has a integrate hexagonal mesostructure. The characteristics of the mesostructure of the synthesized samples were investigated by means of XRD, IR, HRTEM, and N_2 adsorption. The results from XRD and HRTEM indicate that the materials synthesized have a long-distance ordered structure and N_2 adsorption isotherm test shows that the ordered MnMCM41 materials exhibit sharp steps of capillary condensation and narrow pore size distribution. It is revealed that the appropriate addition of neutral hexadecylamine surfactants can conduce to stabilize the mesostructure of manganese-doped ordered-mesoporous silica. Function mechanism of the mixed surfactants in the synthesis of manganese-doped mesoporous silica was primarily analyzed from interface function and the packing parameter of surfactant.
