The characteristics of the medical and tactical rescue procedures in cases of trauma)

2016
The authors’ focus has been on the characteristics of medical rescue workers’ and battlefield rescuers’ activity. The authors have emphasised the fact that civilian rescue workers usually work in two- or three-strong teams and can rely on those next to them. Also, they usually have to cope with a variety of cases and their actions do not depend on the environment (like the light discipline). Every medical rescue worker can always get support from additional servicemen. For a tactical rescuer, the priority is to complete the military task rather than to provide medical help. Therefore, the aim is to utilise efficient tactics so as to prevent further casualties and avoid the crippling of forces. Battlefield rescuers work mostly alone and their equipment is limited to what a soldier can carry. The authors have characterised medical segregation applied by tactical rescuers, which consists on providing aid to the least serious casualties first. This has to do with the priority of completing the military objective.
