Ag3PO4@LaPO4 core–shell composite with high photocatalytic activity

Abstract In this study, Ag 3 PO 4 @LaPO 4 compositephotocatalysts were successfully fabricated by silver-ammonia-solution-assisted solution co-deposition. During co-deposition, Ag 3 PO 4 particles were encapsulated by a flocculent amorphous substance layer of LaPO 4 , affording a Ag 3 PO 4 @LaPO 4 core–shell heterojunction structure. The LaPO 4 shell structure improved the crystallization of the Ag 3 PO 4 core, as well as the dispersion and separation efficiency of photoelectrons and holes, which significantly promoted photocatalytic activity.
