Mechanism for raising the impact strength of plastics

1982
Abstract The relationship between impact strength and the processes of molecular mobility occurring in the elastic inclusions of polymer composites of polyvinylchloride with copolymers of methylmethacrylate, butadiene and styrene has been studied. It is shown that a large part of the energy of impact at low temperatures is expended on relaxational processes in the elastic inclusion.
