Emergency and disaster management–crowd evacuation research

Abstract This paper analyzes literatures on crowd evacuation based on data extracted from Web of Science by applying bibliometric approaches. In specific, reference co-citation analysis, author co-citation analysis, and keyword co-occurrence analysis are adopted to analyze the data with CiteSpace and VOSViewer. This paper makes the following contributions. First, reference co-citation analysis identifies five clusters in the studies on crowd evacuation. Second, author co-citation analysis identifies highly cited authors and categorizes them into three groups. Third, keyword co-occurrence analysis identifies the hotpots in the field of crowd evacuation and points out the directions for future studies.
