This paper mainly introduces the regulation laws of a pressure vessel in France. The high-pressure gas laws in France were remarkably amended in 1943 under occupation of a German army. The departmental ordinance related to high-pressure gas regulations is many in number. The departmental ordinance is created and managed by the Ministry of International Trade and Industry. In Europe and America, the pressure vessel is usually inspected by a third party. In America and England, it is inspected by an insurance company. In Germany and France, it is inspected by an inspection company. An inspector must have technical knowledge and experience as a specialist. CODAP in France is the pressure vessel standard created by a private organization. It is not the forced standard. For the pressure vessel regulation system in France, importance has been attached to the welding section and inspection. It is in France that the inspection is severest. This is considered as a barrier to the export of a pressure vessel to France. It must be verified that the pressure vessel conforms to the law standard in the manufacturing country when it is exported to France from countries other than EU and that the pressure vessel is inspected according to the basic government ordinance in France by the manufacturer.
