To facilitate the verification of compliance with a specification for obtaining a label, or to benefit from an agri-environmental measure, it provides a self registration system of animals that could be implemented by the breeder himself. This census device comprises automated means of animal identification, geographical location and timestamp. The data collected allow the production of one or more messages that census analysis, or set a priori constraints, used to check if the specifications were met and if the animals can be certified. Alternatively census messages are protected by a signature and sent in encrypted form to a person authorized to process for granting approval.
