Optimisation of LiNbO/sub 3/ BOA waveguide switches operating at 1.3 mu m

The optimisation of X-cut LiNbO 3 BOA switches for low voltage, low insertion loss operation is described. An LiNbO 3 waveguide switch operating at 1.3 μm with an insertion loss of 4.3 dB, switching voltage of 4.7 V and extinction rato of 21 dB is reported
