Determination of the quantity of fumes produced during thermal degradation of polymers by measurement of optical density. Influence of ventilation in the case of a polyurethane foam

1990
The samples were heated in a cubic oven using electrical epiradiators. Mass, temperature and emission of fumes were recorded during thermolysis. It is explained how it is possible to measure the optical density of fumes and then to show the influence of air-flow on the thermal degradation of a polyurethane foam.
