Nano-pharmacokinetics preclinical to clinical translation

Abstract Nanotechnology has received significant interest over the past few years, and it has played a major role in bringing considerable changes in the pharmaceutical field. As a novel technique, nanotechnology has many applications not only in the pharmaceutical or medicinal field but also in other non pharmaceutical or non medicinal areas. In general, any materials with the diameter in the range of 1 to 100 nanometers (nm) are termed as nanoparticles. Nanoparticles are different from microparticles (up to 1000 nm), fine particles (up to 2500 nm), and coarse particles (up to 10,000 nm) in terms of their size.
