Delivery of multimedia educational presentations via streaming media

hile continuing pharmacy ed-ucation (CPE) can be deliv-ered in many formats, oralpresentations remain one of the mostpopular ways of disseminating infor-mation to a group of fellow healthcare professionals. This method hassome shortcomings, though. Prepar-ing an effective oral presentation canbe time-consuming, and conveningat a predefined time and place isoften inconvenient. As a result ofoverburdened schedules, health careprofessionals are often unable to par-ticipate in a CPE event, limiting itspotential educational value.We describe how we found a wayto enhance access to the content ofcontinuing-education seminars bycapturing live multimedia presenta-tions and packaging them in a formatviewable over the Internet or a hospi-tal computer network.
