Caracteristicas imagiológicas de linfomas da cabeça e pescoço: Uma revisão dos últimos 5 anos

2016
Objective: Describe the imaging characteristic that may contribute to the suspicion and/or diagnosis of head and neck lymphomaStudy design: Retrospective case revisionMaterial and methods: A revision of the cases of lymphoma diagnosed in the Otorhinolaryngology department of the Hospital Garcia de Orta in five years, from 2008 to 2012. Of the twenty-one cases found, those without diagnostic imaging in the hospital picture archiving communication system were excluded. Results: We obtained twelve cases with diagnostic imaging, of which four presented with exclusive nodal disease. In the remaining eight cases, the lymphoma presented itself primarily as extranodal disease, in either lymphatic (Waldeyers’ ring) or in extra-lymphatic tissue, the latter, involving mainly the nasal cavity. Conclusions: The diagnostic images obtained exemplify the diversity of lymphoma presentation in the head and neck.
