The invention provides a quantum-dot color filter and a liquid crystal display device. The quantum-dot color filter is mainly composed of quantum dot materials, the quantum dot materials are adopted to be matched with blue backlight to achieve the effect that a red sub-pixel area, a green sub-pixel area, a blue sub-pixel area and a white sub-pixel area of the quantum-dot color filter emit red light, green light, blue light and white light respectively, and compared with a traditional color filter composed of color light resistors, the quantum-dot color filter has the advantages that the color gamut can be widened, the light utilization ratio can be improved, and the display brightness and transmittance can be improved. According to the liquid crystal display device, the quantum-dot color filter is arranged in an array substrate or color film substrate, therefore, the color gamut can be widened, the light utilization ratio can be improved, and the display brightness and transmittance can be improved.
