Re-evaluación del perfil de ingreso como instrumento de medición de competencias de lenguaje en estudiantes de pedagogía de la UMAG

espanolEl perfil de ingreso en las universidades de Chile es utilizado como instrumento que mide las condiciones con que los estudiantes ingresan al primer ano academico. Su utilidad responde a medidas que toman las universidades para nivelar las condiciones en las areas en que los estudiantes son evaluados y asegurar mayores tasas de retencion y aprobacion en la casa de estudios. Sin embargo, no existe instrumento que mida y compruebe el avance de las competencias que mide el perfil durante el trascurso academico. La presente investigacion se enfoca en el perfil de ingreso y las competencias del lenguaje, proponiendo una reevaluacion de este en las pruebas de comprension lectora y test habitos de estudio, luego de tres anos de experiencia academica en las carreras de Pedagogia de la Universidad de Magallanes. La investigacion, ademas de demostrar resultados de avance en el Perfil de ingreso, tambien clarifica que no existe relacion entre la mejora de comprension de textos y los habitos de estudio. Por otro lado, se establece relacion de congruencia entre los contenidos de Lenguaje y Comunicacion que exige el Ministerio de educacion a un estudiante de 4to ano medio, con los contenidos que toma la Universidad para evaluar el perfil de ingreso y los que implementa en las asignaturas institucionales para la nivelacion del perfil. Comprendemos, a traves de esta investigacion la importancia del perfil de ingreso y su utilidad, por ello proponemos la reevaluacion intermedia de este, como una herramienta que evalue los avances en los procesos academicos y que aporte a las medidas de la institucion para el aseguramiento de la retencion y aprobacion de alumnos. EnglishThe income profile to the different Chilean universities is used as an instrument that measures the conditions that students possess when entering their first academic year. Its usefulness responds to different measures that the universities take in order to level the conditions in the areas in which students are assessed, and ensure higher retention and approval rates at the university. Nonetheless, there is no instrument that assesses and checks the progress of the skills profile during the academic process. The current investigation is focused on the income profile and the language skills, proposing a reevaluation of the tests in reading comprehension and study habits, after three years of academic experience in the teaching careers at the University of Magallanes. This investigation, not only demonstrates the advances results of the income profile, but also specifies that there is no relation between the reading comprehension advances and the study habits. In addition, there is a congruence relation between the contents of Language required by the Ministry of education to a student of 4 th upper grade, and the contents taken by the university in order to evaluate the income profile and the contents delivered in the institutional subjects. It is understood, through this research, the importance of the income profile and its usefulness, for that reason, we propose the intermediate reevaluation of this as a tool to assess the progress in the academic processes and as a tool that provides to the measures of the institution for the approval and retention assurance of the students.
