Community characteristic of plankton and water quality assessment of the Yellow River Estuary

2014
Based on the data acquisitioned from four times survey of the Yellow River Estuary from May 2011 to February 2012,this paper discussed the plankton species composition, dominant species, biomass, abundance and species diversity and so on. The results showed that total 79 phytoplankton species were identified, including 34 Chlorophyta species,20 Bacillariophyta species,9 Cyanopyta species,6 Euglenophyta species,4 Pyrropyta species and 2 Chrysophyta,Cryptophyta and Xanthophyta species, respectively. There were 25 dominant species, and the main dominant species were chlorella, cyclotella and synedra. The abundance(162. 53 / L) and biomass(1. 93 mg / L) of phytoplankton varied as August May February November. Total 46 zooplankton species were also identified, including 25 species Rotifera,9 species Protozoa,7 species Copepoda and 2 species Cladocera, respectively. And the main dominant species were Brachionus calyciflorus,Keratella quadrata and K. ualga and so on. The abundance(314.01 ind. /L) and biomass(0. 46 mg/L) of zooplankton also varied as August May February November. All the Shannon-Wiener index of phytoplankton and zooplankton was lesser than 3,and the mean value was 1. 68 and 1. 36,respectively. And the water quality was middle polluted assessed using Shannon-Wiener index of phytoplankton and zooplankton.
