Uso y opinión del consentimiento informado entre psicoterapeutas: un estudio piloto

The article analyzes the usage and opinion of the informed consent among psychotherapists. From the National Mental Health Law (26657/2010), the use of informed consent is a mandatory practice in the field of Mental Health. Ethics Codes also argue the need and obligation of its implementation.Its inclusion confronted with a new paradigm of professional-patient relationship while considering the patient as a free, autonomous and rights subject to be taken into account. The lack of discussion on the subject, in relation to actions clinical practice, and research publication imposed and further insufficient knowledge of the subject, involve risks for the patient, the analyst and the analytic relationship. Methodologically, it is a pilot research project “Use and Opinions on Informed Consent among Latin American Psychoanalysts”. The pilot was conducted on a sample of psychotherapists, beyond their theoretical affiliations, and was carried out by students of the Cathedra of Research Methodology, career of Psychology, at El Salvador University, like fieldwork. It is a descriptive exploratory study, type of mixed design. The overall objective of the pilot project is to study the use and opinions on informed consent among psychotherapists is hypothesized as variability in applications and opinions on it. It is hoped that this research will enable an informed debate between analysts regarding this subject and making responsible position in the exercise of informed consent in the professional field.
