Thermal Comfort and Energy Efficient Design of a Central Air Conditioning System of an Educational Institute

The purpose of the central air conditioning system is to provide the comfortable environment regarding desired temperature, humidity, filtration, ventilation, airflow, noise levels, and to conserve the energy. The project proposed of design and drafting of centralized air conditioning system of a multi-storey building of an educational institute situated in Greater Noida in Gautam Buddha Nagar Uttar Pradesh. It has nine floors having a total area of 104,837 sq ft. The main idea behind the design of central air conditioning system is to create a thermally controlled environment within the space of a building, such as faculty room, classroom, labs room, entrance room, waiting area, etc. The cooling load of this required space of the building is 650 TR. Water cooled centrifugal chiller is proposed for this system to make the system more energy efficient. The proposed air conditioning plant will be located at the back side of the building on the ground. This research paper indicates the analysis and experimental calculation which consists of heat load calculation, machine selection, pipe sizing, duct sizing, and drafting.
