The invention relates to paper-based aluminum-plastic composite material and a preparation method thereof, belongs to the technical field of composite paper production and solves the problems of poor aluminum layer smoothness, low brightness, pinholes on aluminum foil and short product shelf life of conventional paper-based aluminum-plastic composite material. The paper-based aluminum-plastic composite material consists of the following twelve layers of material in sequence: modified polyethylene 1, polyethylene 2, a printing ink layer, a plastic film, a directly coated aluminum layer, adhesive resin 6, paper, polyethylene 8, adhesive resin 9, aluminum foil, adhesive resin 11 and modified polyethylene 12. The invention also provides the preparation method for the material. The preparation method comprises the following steps of: preparing an aluminum laminated film; preparing aluminum laminated composite paper; preparing a half-finished product of paper; and compounding an outer PE layer, the half-finished product of paper, an interlayer, the aluminum foil and an inner PE layer which are piled up in sequence into the paper-based aluminum-plastic composite material. By the composite material and the preparation method, the directly coated aluminum layer and a PET film which are directly compounded between the paper and the printing oil layer, a printing surface of the material is endowed with metallic texture, and barrier properties of the material to oxygen and vapor are improved.
