The Urease Activity of Acinetobacter lwoffii and A. anitratus
1967
SUMMARY: The production of urease by Acinetobacter lwoffii and A. anitratus was studied in 20 strains. It is concluded that both species may produce urease under appropriate conditions and that this property is of no value in differentiating between them. This conclusion was tested in 40 other strains of which 37 produced urease independently of saccharolytic activity.
