Method for reducing the coefficient of friction of absorbent product and wax coated product

1995
PURPOSE: To increase the smoothness of products and decrease undesirable stimulation and lesions from which the users may suffer, by incorporating a particular wax material having a higher softening point than the temperature of the human body in an appropriate amount for decreasing friction, in a core of absorbing material including a fluid-absorbing fibers. CONSTITUTION: The absorbing material, for example, the one for a bandage, sanitary and diaper is fabricated using a hydrophilic or hydrophobic material on the surface to which the human body is exposed. This type of hydrophilic material includes a cellulose material such as rayon fibers, cotton fibers and such nylon fibers that exhibit a hydrophilic nature. A wax coat material is provided at least on the surface with which the body has a direct contact, in an amount enough for decreasing the friction coefficient of the contacting surface at least by about 20%, preferably by about 40%. Used for this wax material is animal, botanical and other types of wax.
