Operation of the Athens Water Supply

1935
It is unusual if not unique for a population of some 800,000 inhabitants to become possessed suddenly of a complete new water supply. The operation of such a system presented many new problems, which would not have been problems in a city where the growth of the water supply had kept pace with the growth of the city. Not the least of these problems was the training of the personnel and one of the greatest aids in this training was and still is the Journal of the American Water Works Association.
