Video Vignette: Laser Haemorrhoidoplasty Procedure (LHP) for grade II haemorrhoidal disease in a man complaining of only blood in stool.

2021
Haemorrhoidal disease is a ubiquitous disorder of great socio-economic importance. Today, open haemorrhoidectomy is considered to be the gold standard for grade III and IV haemorrhoidal disease treatment, while for patients with grade I and II haemorrhoidal disease minimally invasive options are applicable1 . One of them is the laser haemorrhoidoplasty. Attempts to use the laser for haemorrhoidal disease treatment have been made since the 90s, but the operation itself was first described in 2007 2 . Laser surgery is most appropriate for patients with 2-3-degree haemorrhoidal disease.
