Production of β-carotene by a Rhodotorula strain grown on sugar cane juice.

Earlier papers sugested a number of media for improving the concentration of carotenoids in yeast cells. Here is reported the production of β-carotene with R. glutinis var. glutinis growing in sugar cane juice.
