Satellite imagery perspectives on typhoon intensity and its variation

2008
The intensity of typhoon and its variation are very important for disaster prevention. The mechanism and process of intensity variation during the life span of a typhoon are, especially, worthy of study. In this paper, satellite data are used to analysis the cloud structure and wind driven velocity of typhoons in the vicinity of Taiwan. The result indicates a very close relation between the typhoon intensity and its cloud structure. A review of basic theory and a summary of cases study are carried out to prove our viewpoint.
