Isolation of Escherichia coli K-12 Mutants with Altered Levels of β-N-Acetylglucosaminidase

1976
Abstract Eight mutants with less than 25% of the wild-type level of β-N-acetylglucosaminidase activity have been isolated from Escherichia coli K-12. Studies on these mutants suggest that less than 1% of the wild-type level of this enzyme may be adequate for the normal growth and division of E. coli cells.
