The natural medicine Galla chinensis has antibacterial and antiviral action and can inhibit and kill microorganisms.G.chinensis is a traditional astringent and satisfactorily treats internal,external,and dermatological conditions.This paper reviewed the chemical constituents of G.chinensis,its inhibition of pathogens,and its anti-inflammatory action.
