TRANSPORT AND RADIATIVE PROPERTIES OF CO2 ARC PLASMA: APPLICATION FOR CIRCUIT-BREAKER MODELLING

2005
In this present work, we report the calculation of the radiative and transport properties for CO2 thermal plasma supposed to be in local thermodynamic equilibrium, at the atmospheric pressure and in the temperature range between 300 and 30000K. In a first part, we present the equilibrium composition and thermodynamic properties. The second part is devoted to the transport coefficients get by the method of Chapman-Enskog. The results are compared to theoretical and experimental values issued from literature. The last part present the radiatives properties obtained with two methods which are the net emission coefficient (NEC) and the mean absorption coefficient (MAC). This study takes into account the radiation resulting from the atomic continuum, the molecular continuum, the O2 molecular bands and the atomic lines.
