Method and device for determining current-carrying capacity of cable

The invention discloses a method and device for determining the current-carrying capacity of a cable. The method comprises the following steps of: measuring the skin temperature of the cable and the environmental temperature at a preset distance away from the cable; according to the skin temperature and the environmental temperature, determining the current-carrying capacity of the cable. According to the scheme of the invention, through measuring the skin temperature of the cable and the environmental temperature at a preset distance away from the cable, and based on the measured skin temperature and the environmental temperature, the current-carrying capacity of the cable is determined, and the current-carrying capacity of the cable is estimated through fully considering the surrounding environment temperature of the cable, therefore, the error influence of environment changes on the current-carrying capacity of the cable is avoided, so that the obtained current-carrying capacity of the cable is smaller in error and more accurate.
