Sliding Mode Control with ESO for Building Structure System

In this paper, considering the destructiveness from unknown earthquake, a slide model control algorithm with rapid convergence is proposed to restrain vibration of building structure. An extended state observer (ESO) is designed to estimate the unknown earthquake which is a strong disturbance for building structure system. In order to suppress vibration of the building structure rapidly, sliding mode controller is designed by combining with ESO, which could co-instantaneously achieve rapid compensation for uncertain part of the system. According to Lyapunov stability theory, the effectiveness of proposed control method is demonstrated. Finally, simulation experiments show that the proposed method can effectively estimate the unknown disturbances of the system.
