Method for treating caesium-containing waste water by using magnesium-modified attapulgite adsorbent

2012
The invention discloses a method for treating caesium-containing waste water by using a magnesium-modified attapulgite adsorbent. The method comprises the following steps: adding the magnesium-modified attapulgite adsorbent in the caesium-containing waste water, wherein the concentration of caesium in the waste water is 5 to 150 mg/L, and a mass ratio of caesium in the waste water to the adsorbent is 1: 500-5000; and carrying out adsorption with static and/or oscillating stirring at a temperature of 0 to 50 DEG C. The content of elemental magnesium in the magnesium-modified attapulgite adsorbent is 7.74 to 58.7% by weight. A magnesium modifier added in the magnesium-modified attapulgite adsorbent is a magnesium compound easily soluble in water. The method provided by the invention has the following advantages: high efficiency is realized in adsorption of caesium, operation process is simple, requirements of adsorption conditions are low, cost for an adsorption material is low, high regeneration efficiency is obtained, popularization can be easily carried out, and good economic and environmental protection benefits are obtained.
