Operation of metal electrodes in contact with a slag film in a MHD system

Results are presented on the operation of metal electrodes in contact with slag films in the U-02-500 apparatus. The choice of electrode materials is considered, and the states of them after test are examined, particularly the erosion character and level. It is shown that the erosion level for nickel enables the anode wall in an MHD channel to work at the 1000 h level on solid fuel at present.
