Fast economical data acquisition systems based on the CERN S-LINK interface standard

2002
Fast data acquisition with direct transfer to memory is facilitated by the S-LINK interface protocol, developed at CERN, the European Organization for Nuclear Research. The need for customized hardware development reduces to application-specific front-end interfaces. Two applications of S-LINK data acquisition systems for microwave Doppler reflectometry and electron cyclotron emission radiometry at the ASDEX Upgrade nuclear fusion experiment are presented.
