Opportunities for the reduction of HFC-23 emissions from the production of HCFC-22

This paper describes both demonstrated and innovative techniques to reduce emissions of trifluoromethane from the industrial process used to produce chlorodifluoromethane. The study is based on a review of the literature, site visits to all of the U.S. plants, and discussions with plant operating personnel and company research and development groups. 10 refs.
