Double Intussusception after Colonoscopy with Adult Intussusception: Report of a Case

2013
Adult intussusception (AI) is a rare medical condition and is difficult to diagnose because it presents with nonspecific symptoms. A pathological cause of intussusceptions, called a leading point, is found in most cases. Using computed tomography usually makes preoperative diagnosis. Colonoscopy is also used as a common diagnostic tool despite its relatively lower diagnostic accuracy for intussusception. The main treatment modality for intussusception in adult is surgical resection; non-surgical reduction is not useful. The complications of colonoscopy in patients with intussusception have not been widely discussed. Herein we report a case of a second intussusception that developed after colonoscopy was performed in an adult with intussusception.
