Modelling of SVC Control System in RTDS for Closed Loop System Test

Static Var Compensator(SVC)can effectively improve the power quality of the point of common coupling.It was widely used in the power system.The digital real time models of the TCR+FC type of SVC and a test power grid is built in this paper based on Real-time Digital Simulator(RTDS).Using this model the correctness of the control algorithm is verified.It can also test the SVC controller by connecting the controller with the RTDS.Through simulation result analysis,the closed-loop simulation system consists by the SVC controller and RTDS model can effectively verify the controller's dynamic characteristic.The algorithm used by the controller can follow the reactive variation,maintain the voltage stability and has good control ability.
