System for reducing noise in digital video signal by motion detection

PURPOSE: To simply reduce noises by providing the system with a vertical filter and evaluating the colors or luminance values of two or more picture points with the positional relation of vertical arrangement on two or plural succeeding scanning lines of a field. CONSTITUTION: On a picture face, scanning lines 38 belonging to 1st and 2nd partial pictures Tb1, Tb2 are formed by electron beams. An estimate value for the luminance value/color values of a picture point 41 on the 2nd partial picture Tb2 is calculated from two luminance values/color values belonging to picture points 39, 40. The calculation is executed in blocks 20 to 22. A picture point 42 is evaluated by a coefficient K formed in accordance with the luminance value or color value of preceding or succeeding picture point 43 or 44. The evaluation is executed by circuit elements 23 to 27. Thereby both of a two-dimensional filter and a frame digital filter are made unnecessary and noises in a video signal can be reduced.
